State Income Tax Repeal Pledge

Washingtonians adopted a Constitution which bans income tax. Washingtonians have voted against income tax every time they have been given the opportunity. The 2026 legislature created an unconstitutional income tax and called it an emergency to deprive the people of Washington the right to reject this disastrous idea once more.

Every candidate for the Legislature must be asked whether he or she will vote to repeal the income tax. RCCW asks every legislative candidate to sign the following pledge:

I, ________________________, pledge to the taxpayers of the _______ Legislative District of the state of Washington and all the people of this state that I will support and vote in favor of any and all efforts to repeal the income tax.
